Text Box: Hi,
I am Mr. Su. Your child is in my Physics class this year and I would like to share how this course will be run. This year we will study the structure and behavior of matter. As the most fundamental science, Physics is critical to the study of all other sciences. Students studying physics in high school are also much more likely to be successful in college.

Course Topics:
Mechanics ● Heat and Energy
Sound & Light ● Electricity and Magnetism
Atomic and Nuclear Physics

The textbook for this course is Conceptual Physics which is published by Prentice Hall. All students will check out a textbook. I suggest you have your child cover his or her textbook as they are financially responsible.

Things you can do to help your child:
Check with your child every night to see if they have done their homework.
Encourage your child to seek help when they need it. It is possible to get extra help during lunch, before school, or after school.
When your child becomes stuck on a problem, have them write down what they have tried.
Have students stop by my after school office hours for tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45-3:30 (or other times by appointment)
There is a web site http://www.mr-su.org which lists up to date homework assignments and assignments we did in class.
If you would like to contact me, I can be reached at (909) 477-6900 x2413 or Lawrence_Su@cjuhsd.k12.ca.us

Things your child will need at school: Some other items that can be helpful:
